A Lord of the Rings Fan Recreated Rivendell in Minecraft
A dedicated J. R. R. Tolkien's fan decided to bring his passion for fantasy worlds to Minecraft. User 1nsinuating recreated Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings in Minecraft, having managed to convey the very spirit of an Elven town.

Minecraft has a unique community of enthusiasts who regularly recreate various things in the game, including buildings or even towns and cities.
Reddit user with the nickname 1nsinuating is an author of one of such projects. The user recreated the iconic location from The Lord of the Rings, an Elven town Rivendell, in Minecraft. Rivendell's appearance in the game is inspired by the films of Peter Jackson.

When recreating the location, 1nsinuating tried to follow the original in everything. Of course, the game's toolkit does not allow to accurately create the exact copy of Rivendell, but the project is still awe-inspiring.
It took 1nsinuating 3-4 weeks to recreate Rivendell, using WorldEdit and VoxelSniper plugins. Some of the landscape details and buildings were designed by hand.
Moreover, this version of Rivendell is built in the standard Minecraft without any graphic mods. The effects were added later in Photoshop for the screenshot.
