In April, players will have two AAA releases at once - Outriders and Returnal, but there will be other games as well. What kind? Read below!

Outriders - available from April 1 on PC, PS4, Xbox One
Outriders is a new game from the Polish studio People Can Fly, known for Painkiller and Bulletstorm. This studio also helped Epic Games with the Gears of War series for many years. Now the team is creating their own co-op third-person shooter with RPG elements.

The Outriders take place on Enoch, a distant Earth-like planet. In the process of colonization, the pioneers caught a mysterious signal and rushed to its source, where they encountered an anomaly, a massive and deadly energy storm. Everyone who came into contact with this anomaly had to be put into cryostasis, which lasted 30 years.

During this time, Enoch has changed, pioneers began to awaken from cryostasis. Due to the anomaly, they developed magical abilities that helped in battles with Enoch's monsters. But the main task of the Outriders players is to deal with this anomaly.

Oddworld: Soulstorm - available from April 6 on PC, PS4, PS5
Oddworld: Soulstorm is the sequel to the Oddworld series. The new game is a reimagining of Oddworld: Abeʼs Exoddus, released in 1998. The action takes place in an alien world, and the protagonist is the same Abe, who still wants to save his comrades-in-arms from slavery.

The updated system for creating weapons will help him in this, although not all problems will have to be solved in battle. Even in Oddworld: Soulstorm, there will be many puzzles and complex jumping on platforms.

NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 - available from April 23 on PC, PS4, Xbox One
NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 is a remaster of NieR, released in 2010. The original game sold poorly, but publisher Square Enix decided to release an updated version due to 2017's NieR: Automata's success. But the remaster is only conditionally connected with the original: the universe and characters are the same, but there is practically no connection in the plot events.

The protagonist of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 goes in search of a cure for his sick sister. Traveling to distant lands of the post-apocalyptic world is not easy for him.

There is a lot to fight in NieR. The developers of the remaster focused on the combat system - they improved it in every possible way. They also tightened up the graphics and re-recorded the music.

Total War: ROME REMASTERED - Available from April 29 on PC
The original Rome: Total War - the global historical strategy of Creative Assembly - was released in 2004, after which the studio released the Alexander and Barbarian Invasion add-ons. But even without them, the game had something to do: more than 20 playable factions and the most critical events from 270 BC to 14 AD.

In the updated version, all this will remain. Also, the authors will add 16 factions, a new type of agents - merchants, modern mechanics. Not without graphic improvements: 4K resolution, higher quality textures, an improved camera.

Returnal - Available from April 30 on PS5
Returnal is an action game by Housemarque, known for its excellent Resogun, Nex Machina, and Matterfall.
In this release, the team will not change itself and again plans to rely on the gameplay.

Returnal's plot is dedicated to the space pilot Selena, who is caught in a time loop on a distant planet. But you shouldn't expect a deep history from Housemarque. It will be dynamic gameplay and detailed mechanics. Since Selena is locked in a time loop, the game doesn't end with her death. After death, the heroine is reborn, and the gameplay cycle repeats with minor changes. Locations and enemies are generated randomly every time. Selena herself, with each rebirth, opens up new opportunities in herself, which will help her break out of the loop.
