Battlefield 2042 Gameplay and Release Date Revealed
Electronic Arts and DICE have announced Battlefield 2042. The game will be released on October 22nd on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. Here's what we know about the game so far.
The events of the game take place in the near future: there are not enough resources for everyone, there is a crisis in most countries, more refugees appear every day. The situation in the world is complicated by climatic cataclysms. Against the backdrop of all these problems, the United States and Russia are starting a bloody war.
Upon release, Battlefield 2042 will have three multiplayer experiences. The first, All-Out Warfare, is a development of the classic Conquest and Breakthrough modes for the series. The second, Hazard Zone, is a new mode where the emphasis will be on battles between small units. The third direction, the name of which is still unknown, will be announced later by DICE.
On PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, the game will support up to 128 players per map (in All-Out Warfare). On PS4 and Xbox One, the maximum number of players is 64.
The four playable classes in Battlefield 2042 are called Specialists.
On release day, Battlefield 2042 will feature seven maps: from the expansive metropolis of Kaleidoscope, where a tornado can overtake fighters, and the Orbital space training ground, to the desert location of Hourglass and the snow-capped peaks of the Breakaway mountain range.
After the release, the game's development will be divided into seasons, and a Battle Pass will be released for each of them.
Shortly before the release, DICE will open beta testing Battlefield 2042.
