Belgium Froze Russian Assets Worth 58 Billion Euros

The total amount of assets of Russian individuals and legal entities frozen in Belgium over the past year since the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia is 58 billion euros.

This is noted in the statement of the Belgian Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peteghem on the occasion of the anniversary of the active phase of the war in Ukraine.

It follows that the Belgian Finance Ministry froze 58 billion euros of Russian assets, the largest amount among all EU member states. In addition, 191 billion euros of Russian financial transactions were blocked.

In general, these measures apply to 1,789 Russian entities and individuals on the sanctions list.
