U.S. President Joe Biden signed an executive order extending the state of national emergency imposed in 2021 over Russian interference in the U.S. elections and related sanctions.

The corresponding document was published on the website of White House. This allows the U.S. administration to continue imposing sanctions against Russia in the future.

The one-year extension of the state of national emergency in the United States also means the extension of a number of sanctions that Washington has previously imposed on Russia for the same period.
