Chinese Fortnite players will lose access to the game on November 15, while registration of new players and the ability to download the game will be closed beginning today, November 1. This was announced on the official game’s website.

Chinese residents will no longer be able to play the specifically designed version of the popular Battle Royale game for the Chinese market. The reason for such a decision is currently unknown. However, it may be related to the fact that the game has been operating at a loss for the last couple of years, and as new restrictions are being introduced in the country, operating Fortnite there is not feasible anymore.

Fortnite was introduced in China in 2018, but its special Chinese version differs significantly from the usual one in many ways to not violate Chinese laws. For instance, microtransactions are prohibited in China, and you can get a Battle pass completely for free.

Moreover, the matches in the Chinese Fortnite lasted 20 minutes. At the end of the match, all players who stayed alive up to this point can be declared winners and claim a Victory Royale.

Finally, gamers under the age of 18 are now only allowed to play between 8 PM and 9 PM on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays.
