At the EA Play Live presentation, the developers officially announced a remake of the horror game Dead Space along with its teaser trailer.

The Motive studio will re-create Dead Space from scratch on the Frostbite game engine, making the gameplay even deeper and more captivating. They promise to preserve the vibes of the original title.

The game's protagonist is Isaac Clarke, a former ship systems engineer sent to a giant spaceship for repair work. However, onboard he discovers corpses and terrible creatures called Necromorphs, which he has to kill with his laser cutter and other weapons.

The developers of Dead Space said that the game would not have any loading screens. The team assured that everything that did not work well in the previous parts would be enhanced in the new game thanks to the Frostbite engine. Players will be able to watch the story without a single loading screen or cuts. At the same time, the developers noted that they are not going to change key plot points or the game's art design.

Dead Space will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

GamesBeat Editor Jeff Grubb claims that EA and Motive are planning to release the remake of Dead Space in the fall of 2022, citing sources. However, the release dates may shift depending on the circumstances.

After the announcement of Dead Space's remake, the owners of collectible editions of the previous parts of the franchise decided to sell them at a high price on eBay. The first part of the franchise was released in 2008.
