The premiere of Elden Ring is just around the corner, and the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has already given the game an M rating – it was recommended to a mature audience of 17+.
The official rating summary briefly describes the game and explains that Elden Ring received this particular rating because its combat scenes contain impact sounds, splatters of blood, and cries of pain. Elden Ring also features depictions of gore, such as severed fingers and tongues, cut-off arms, severed arms hanging from the ceiling.
In addition, a humanoid monster is shown partially nude, with scars and scales covering its chest and pelvic regions. Also, the word "shit" appears in the dialogues.
The videos of Elden Ring's gameplay have also been recently published online. Thanks to the latest PS4 hack, some players managed to study the game's build from the closed beta. An enthusiast with the nickname ER-SA found a way to bypass the built-in restrictions and visit new locations, including the Stormveil Castle.
Elden Ring is set to be released on February 25, 2022, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
