In an interview for the Japanese magazine Famitsu, FromSoftware's Marketing and Communications Manager Yasuhiro Kitao announced that the development of the new game project the company is working on – Elden Ring – is in its final stages of development. He added that everything goes as planned.

Yasuhiro Kitao also noted that the difficulty level of the game will be very high, describing Elden Ring as the culmination of FromSoftware's expertise in developing dark fantasy games. Therefore, the gaming process and its difficulty will still be as intense as in the studio's previous projects.

Yasuhiro also shared some details about the gameplay of the upcoming game. According to him, the game will feature a stealth mode, so gamers will be able to quietly explore various areas, like in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

In addition to this, the players will get the opportunity to ride and fight on horses. Some battles will be built around this mechanic, especially in cases where increased mobility is required. Players will also be able to summon a spirit to fight on their side.

Elden Ring is to be released on January 21, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
