The Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Giveaway on the Epic Games Store began on January 15 and will run until January 21. The promotion turned out to lead to various server issues and some unfriendly error codes.
There were so many users wishing to pick up the game for free that the EA servers could not withstand the load. Due to it, players began to experience widespread errors with the game: it was difficult to connect to the EA servers.

Sit tight, we're on it! An incredible number of players have joined us during our @EpicGames Store free week and we're scaling up new servers to welcome you all to the Battlefront.
Code 623 pops up when loading into the game, saying the player cannot connect to Battlefront 2's servers. Code 918 is similarly limiting, and it tells the player that their EA account is restricted.
The company said they were able to fix most of the issues, but some players are still reporting difficulty getting into the game. The Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Giveaway will last until January 21.
