Swedish personal hygiene products manufacturer Essity, known for its popular Zewa toilet paper, Libresse sanitary pads, and Libero diapers, has officially left the Russian market.

The company completed the sale of its Russian business for SEK 1.2 billion to Russian billionaire Igor Shilov's company, New Technologies LLC.

Essity had manufacturing plants in Russia, where 1,300 people were employed until Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The decision to sell its business in Russia and fully exit the market was announced by Essity in early June, and now the process has been successfully completed by the end of the second quarter.
