Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania Close Entry to Cars with Russian License Plates
Estonia has imposed a ban on vehicles with Russian license plates from entering the country. With this move, all three Baltic States, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, have aligned with the recommendations from the European Commission.
Estonia's decision to prohibit the entry of Russian-registered vehicles into its territory follows the European Commission's guidance that EU member states should not admit private cars with Russian license plates.
At border checkpoints, the Estonian tax and customs department will conduct the necessary procedures. Vehicle owners or users will have the option to return to Russia with their cars or cross the border without them.
