EU Agrees Ninth Package of Sanctions Against Russia

European Union diplomats have agreed on the ninth package of sanctions over the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reports.

It is reported that the 9th package of EU sanctions is directed against the "industrial complex" of the Russian Federation.

The package aims to stifle the strengthening of Russian industrial capabilities through an expanded list of 169 entities supplying goods that could contribute to the technological improvement of Russia's defense and security sector.

Drone engines, chemical and biological equipment, riot control equipment and electronic components would fall under these new sanctions, according to the text of the law.
