EU ambassadors have approved the extension of all EU economic sanctions against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine for the next six months.

This applies to sanctions, the first of which were implemented back in 2014 after Russia's first aggression against Ukraine, and significantly expanded from February 2022 with the beginning of a full-scale war.

In December 2022, the EU Council finally approved the 9th package of sanctions against Russia for the war against Ukraine. Preparations for the 10th package are continuing, and it is likely to be approved by the anniversary of the full-scale war.
