Following Private Lenders, Turkish State Banks Suspend the Use of Russian Mir Cards

Turkish state banks will exit Russian Mir payment system following US warnings of secondary sanctions.

The three Turkish state banks – VakifBank, Ziraat Bank, and Halkbank – were still processing transactions made with Mir cards, but will not do that anymore.

Banks in several other countries, including Kazakhstan and Vietnam, have also withdrawn support for Mir.
