Publisher Deck13 has presented the debut gameplay trailer for Highrise City, an urban planning strategy with a well-developed economic component. In Highrise City, players will not only deal with the construction of buildings or other structures but also with the preparation of multiple building materials and supplies, from wood to brick production. It is a rare element for similar urban planning strategies since, in other games, this stuff is done automatically thanks to artificial intelligence. Other projects usually focus on money that you can use to buy buildings.
Highrise City will introduce players to the basics of economics, which sets it apart from other city simulators, where everything depends only on money.
Highrise City developers plan to implement the mechanics of collecting and accumulating seven different types of resources required to construct buildings. In addition, players will establish various complex industrial food supply and production chains.
Of course, the game will also feature trade, ensuring interaction with other cities and allowing players to purchase resources in other places.
The release of Highrise City is scheduled for 2022.
