The open-world action-adventure game Horizon Forbidden West has finally been released. Digital Foundry experts evaluated the game and its updated graphics, noting that it is impressive compared to that in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Horizon Forbidden West also noticeably improved compared to the previous game not only in terms of the graphics, but the changes also concern multiple details and technical improvements to the engine.
Digital Foundry especially highlighted the landscapes and nature, simulation of waves and water, weather effects, as well as lighting. Animations both during gameplay and cutscenes have also improved drastically.
Guerrilla Games is already working on fixing visual issues, including brightness problems, blurry objects, and long texture loading times. The developers thanked the audience, assuring that fixing these problems is now a priority.
The creators of Horizon Forbidden West also announced Play and Plant initiative within which players can play the game and unlock the Reached the Daunt trophy before March 25.
Then, for each trophy, the creators of the game will plant a tree across the USA in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and thus complete three reforestation projects.
