Japanese companies Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, Sompo Japan Insurance and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance will stop insuring against military risks for ships passing through Russian waters from January 1. They have already begun notifying ship owners of this decision.
This means damage coverage will not be provided anywhere in Russian waters, including the Far East. The decision was caused by the refusal of foreign reinsurance companies to take risks related to Russia.
