Japan has announced additional sanctions against Russia over its full-scale invasion of Ukraine and condemned Russia's intention to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, Reuters reports.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the sanctions include the freezing of assets of 78 groups and 17 individuals, including army officers in Russia, as well as an export ban on 80 Russian entities, including military-affiliated research labs.

In addition, Japan will ban the provision of engineering and construction services to Russia. It is noted that details about Japan’s sanctions against Russia will be announced later.
