Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to diversify oil export routes after another Russian blockage of terminals in Novorossiysk. It was through these terminals that Kazakh oil was shipped to the EU.
In the face of Russia's blocking of Kazakhstan's exports, Tokayev said the Trans-Caspian route, which bypasses Russia – through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and on to Turkey and Europe – is a priority.
