Kosovo's government has backed the country's participation in the European Union's 11th package of sanctions, imposed in response to Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
The decision was reported by local channel Klan Kosova. The proposal to join the latest EU sanctions was put forth by Kosovo's Foreign Minister, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.
The agreed-upon sanctions package includes measures such as strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation with third countries to prevent sanctions evasion, banning the transit of goods through Russia, tightening export restrictions, introducing additional sanctions against 71 individuals, 33 legal entities, and the Wagner Group.
The Kosovo government reportedly voted in favor of this proposal, aligning with the EU's stance in response to the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
