Kosovo Will Join EU in Sanctions Against Russia and Belarus

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Kreshnik Ahmeti declared that Russia actions are condemned by the UN resolution. He added that Kosovo is in solidarity with its international partners and offered to the government to vote for the bill regarding imposing sanctions onto Russia.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi specified:

"Sanctions consist of freezing the funds of sanctioned persons or entities in the Republic of Kosovo, prohibiting sanctioned persons from traveling to the Republic of Kosovo, prohibiting persons and entities in the Republic of Kosovo from directly or indirectly providing funds to individuals or sanctioned entities."

In the Western Balkan region, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania have also joined the EU and US sanctions on Russia. Serbia said it supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine but refrained from imposing sanctions.
