Latvia Joins Ukraine's Lawsuit against Russia at International Court of Justice

Latvia has applied to the International Court of Justice to join the case of Ukraine against Russia, which concerns accusations of genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

As the judge explained, when it comes to the interpretation of a convention to which states other than those participating in the case are parties, each of those states has the right to enter the process. In that case, the interpretation provided by the Court's decision will be equally binding on them.
