Square Enix and Deck Nine revealed a new trailer for Life is Strange: True Colors at their E3 2021 conference. The video was dedicated to the abilities of the main character, Alex Chen.

Alex is an empath – she can read the emotions of other people. For a long time, she considered her ability a curse, because she shared the anger and fears of others against her will. But after the death of her brother Gabe, Alex decided to use her powers to the fullest to find out the truth about what had happened.

Players can use the main character's ability from the very beginning of Life is Strange: True Colors. By focusing on the colorful auras around the people of Haven Springs, you can learn about their feelings, emotions, thoughts, and experiences. This knowledge opens up additional options in dialogues and allows you to make decisions, the consequences of which will become obvious in the future.

When Alex meets a character with a powerful aura and interacts with it, the world around them changes, and the main character gets the opportunity to look at a situation or event through the eyes of that character.

At the same time, the main character can take away especially strong emotions that can harm other characters – for example, anger or feelings of despair. The game creators have not yet revealed how this would affect Alex, but they hint that such decisions will definitely have consequences.

The game will be released on September 10 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
