Lithuania has issued an order mandating that vehicles registered in Russia, which entered the country before the ban on entry was imposed, must leave Lithuania and the entire territory of the European Union within 6 months from their date of arrival. This directive was announced by Lithuanian customs.
The exemption applies to Russian citizens transiting to or from the Kaliningrad region in vehicles with Russian registration but only with a simplified transit document. It's worth noting that such transit must not exceed 24 hours, and the vehicle must be accompanied by its owner.
The ban on the entry of vehicles with Russian registration applies to all vehicles, regardless of the nationality of their owner or driver. These restrictions are linked to Russia's attempts to circumvent international sanctions, including bans on imports from Russia, which extend to vehicles, cameras, laptops, and hundreds of other everyday consumer goods.
