The Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania has made a decision to block IP addresses that enable the viewing of Russian television programs, which are banned in Lithuania.
The Commission stated that this decision was made in accordance with the regulations of the European Union (EU) Council, which applies restrictive measures to counter disinformation and propaganda against the European Union and its member states.
The commission noted that since the prohibited television programs are available on the internet, the regulator has decided that internet service providers must take all possible measures to prevent access to content included in the regulated list.
