Netflix Asia is discussing the possibility of creating a game based on the hugely popular series Squid Game. Earlier last month, the gaming department of Netflix debuted with two mobile games based on Stranger Things in Poland.
Netflix will explore all options to expand the franchise, including fan merchandise and video games, The Hollywood Reporter reports. By now, the producers are only discussing the second season of the series, and have not made any specific comments on a potential video game yet.
Considering the popularity of the series, Netflix may actually release the game. However, given how long it takes to develop games, Squid Game could run for several seasons before an official video game arrives, Netflix representatives say.
Squid Game is a South Korean drama about a survival tournament. The show was premiered in mid-September but gained immense popularity in October.
