New Genesis will not be an add-on for Phantasy Star Online 2, but a full-fledged independent project on a new engine. The new MMORPG takes place a thousand years after the events of the original.
The developers from the SEGA studio announced the release date of the new shareware multiplayer role-playing game Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The game will be released on June 9 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The authors of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis promise an entirely new open world, an exciting storyline, and a variety of characters. At the beginning, six classes and pumping up to level 20 will be available. In August and autumn, the developers promise to expand the game with new quests and classes, and in the winter, to release a major update with a new region and an increase in the maximum level to 35.
