The creators of the pandemic simulator Plague Inc. kept their promise, and in a new free update, they added pandemic prevention mode.
The new mode, called Plague Inc: The Cure , is an attempt by the developers at Ndemic Creations to simulate the real multilateral efforts required to stop the pandemic. The mode is based on data received from real experts.
Plague Inc. was released in 2012, but it became popular in March of this year and took the top charts amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, the game had to contribute to the disease's spread and strive to eradicate civilization. The new Plague Inc: The Cure mode presents the player with opposite tasks: to fight the spread of the disease and save humanity from extinction. The regime offers several phases of pandemic containment: disease research and techniques such as contact tracing and vaccine development.
Ndemic emphasizes that the game should not be taken as a scientific model, but thanks to experts' help, it gives an idea of what actions are needed to stop a pandemic similar to the current outbreak of COVID-19.
Ndemic Creations says Plague Inc: The Cure will be free until COVID-19 is brought under control. The new mode is already available for iOS and Android platforms. PC and console versions will also be released soon.
