The Polish government has decided to terminate the contract with Russia for the construction of gas pipeline systems to transit gas through the territory of the Republic of Poland and deliver Russian gas, Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa said.

The Polish government is preparing to close the contract with Gazprom at the end of 2022.

"The correctness of the government's decision to become fully independent of Russian gas is confirmed by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. We have always known that the Russia is not a reliable partner," the minister stated.

Anna Moskwa said the government's decree was also a logical step after the Russians decided to shut off the gas tap in Poland.
