Citing three trusted sources, the Kotaku website reported that Rockstar Games is developing remasters of the classic Grand Theft Auto games: Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. According to Kotaku, GTA trilogy remasters will be released in the fall of 2021 on Unreal Engine. This engine was chosen because of its versatility and since its own development can significantly slow down the workflow.

According to the publication sources, the remasters will be released in late October or early November. Games will receive original and modern graphics, but visually they will look like heavily modified originals. The interface will also be updated, but will keep the classic style.

The collection will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and mobile devices based on iOS and Android operating systems. However, the remasters will first be released on consoles. There is a chance that the computer and mobile versions will be postponed until next year, since the studio is primarily focused on developing the console ports.

If the insiders are right and the remastered trilogy is successful, the developers will release the remasters of other classic games like Red Dead Redemption. Earlier it was reported that the release of the GTA 5 remaster would take place on November 11 this year.
