The authors of the new Saints Row game from the Volition studio published a new video with the future project's gameplay, accompanied by comments from the developers. In the video, the developers talk about the city where the game's events take place – Santo Ileso.

The video paid a lot of attention to the city itself: the authors showed its districts (there will be nine of them) and the factions in the game. Also, the developers talked about character customization and destructible objects in the open world. The authors also showed the concept art of the game in the video.

The title will feature the largest open world in the series. The authors added the ability to fight with whole gangs to the game and implemented the ability to use many types of transport.

The gameplay video got four times more likes than dislikes. Before that, the Saints Row reboot announcement video became Volition's most disliked video to date.

Volition announced the reboot of Saints Row as part of the gamescom 2021 opening ceremony on August 25. The developers showed the debut trailer for the game, shared the details, and announced the release date of the game.

However, the main complaint of the gamers is that the new game does not resemble the spirit of the first parts of Saints Row at all. Also, many pointed out the ridiculous characters who cannot even be compared to the Saints from the original games. However, some people still liked a fresh look at the familiar universe.

Volition remained silent for several days, but eventually, the developers said that they would not stop the development of the upcoming game.

The game will be released on February 25, 2022, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
