South Korea has issued a warning that it may consider unilateral sanctions against Russia after the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin raised concerns about military cooperation between the two nations.

South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin stated that any agreement between North Korea and Russia regarding arms trade during the summit would pose an extremely serious threat to security and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

When asked if South Korea is considering unilateral sanctions against North Korea and Russia, the Foreign Minister responded that they are exploring "all possible measures."

South Korea has previously imposed unilateral sanctions against North Korea due to its illegal nuclear, missile, and cyber activities. In contrast, the country has only joined international sanctions against Russia related to its invasion of Ukraine.
