GSC Game World developers announced that the release date of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl game is postponed from April 28 to December 8, 2022. The news was announced on the studio's official Twitter account.

According to the developers, they need additional time to fulfill their vision and achieve the desired state of the game since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is GSC's biggest project. They thanked the players for their understanding and patience and promised to share more information in the coming months.

“This decision is not an easy one, but we are doing the best possible to deliver you a game that can live up to the expectations,” the statement reads.

The previous release date was announced in June. Back then, the team also announced the subtitle of the new part of the game – Heart of Chernobyl – as well as released a five-minute trailer for the upcoming title.

The game will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC and will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers right away. Later, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 should also be released for PlayStation.
