GamesBeat editor and insider Jeff Grubb said on his Twitter that Starfield will be an Xbox and PC exclusive, specifying that he can definitely confirm this information.
Other journalists and industry representatives commented on Grubb's tweet that Starfield would be a PC and Xbox exclusive, but they did not fully confirm his words.
Analyst Daniel Ahmad, in turn, noted that it is important for Microsoft, which now owns Bethesda, to invest in exclusive content. He said that Microsoft would continue to focus heavily on its Xbox Game Pass service, which will include its major titles like Halo Infinite and Starfield on the first day of release.
This increases the value of the Xbox Game Pass subscription, which has essentially become the centerpiece of the Xbox ecosystem, as well as remains the main competitive advantage over other services that help the corporation to continue to grow its audience.
At the same time, Ahmad notes that it is also important for Microsoft that access to Game Pass is from different platforms, including through the cloud (for this, Microsoft has xCloud).
Starfield is Bethesda's sci-fi RPG that was announced back at E3 2018 when Game Director Todd Howard noted that this is their first new IP in 25 years. At the moment, no more details about the game are available. It has also not been specified on which platforms the RPG will be released.
