Swiss Bank Credit Suisse Has Frozen More than $19bn Worth of Russian Assets

Credit Suisse has frozen Russian assets worth 17.6 billion Swiss francs (more than $19 billion), SonntagsZeitung reports.

As journalists note, this is more than a third of all declared Russian assets in Switzerland. Of this amount, only about 4 billion francs belong to sanctioned individuals in Switzerland. The remaining 13.6 billion francs belong to people subject to restrictions in other countries.

Switzerland has previously blocked $8.1 billion worth of Russian assets and 15 properties.
