Switzerland Imposes New Sanctions Package Against Russia

Switzerland has announced the implementation of a new set of sanctions against Russia in response to its full-scale war against Ukraine. Effective from August 16th, these measures include a ban on the export of dual-use goods and items that contribute to Russia's military and technological advancement.

The Swiss government emphasizes that the sanctions will also extend to 87 additional companies, including those from third countries, which have supplied such goods to the aggressor country. The sanctions encompass a range of services and products, including the export of electronic components and precursor chemicals for chemical weapons, the sale of intellectual property rights and trade secrets, aviation fuel and additives, as well as goods for the aviation and aerospace industries.

In the financial sector, the government has expanded the existing ban on selling securities to both individual entities from Russia and Russian financial groups.
