The EU Plans to Ban Transit of Many Goods Through Russia
The European Union plans to introduce a ban on the transit of many goods through Russia in the 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions, which is being prepared by the European Commission, Bloomberg reports.
The ban could affect a large number of technologies and goods, including several types of vehicles, the article reads. The main focus of the sanctions package will be to close loopholes to circumvent existing sanctions, including companies in third countries.
Poland, Estonia and Lithuania have insisted that the EU impose a ban on the transit through Russia of goods and technology that can be used by the Russian military, aviation and space industries, as well as goods that could contribute to the strengthening of Moscow’s industrial potential.
