The European Union Adopts Full Suspension of Visa Facilitation with Russia

The Council of the European Union has decided to completely suspend the visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Russia.

The decision is effective as of September 12.

Russian citizens will no longer be able to obtain visas to travel to the countries of the The Schengen Area under the simplified procedure. The number of new visas for Russians should also decrease significantly.
