The UK to Impose Sanctions on Iran

The UK Foreign Secretary has announced plans to introduce a new sanctions regime targeting Iran, which would include restrictions on hostile activities, including military support to aggression.

The statement issued by the British Foreign Secretary highlights Iran's intensified campaign of targeting opponents abroad, with more than 15 threats documented in the UK alone since 2022 to harm or abduct British citizens or residents.

The new sanctions regime will enable the imposition of sanctions on individuals and entities involved in facilitating the use and spread of weapons or weapon technologies from Iran, among other activities.
