The Witcher: Monster Slayer mobile game hit a million downloads a week after its release.

The number of downloads of the mobile AR project from The Witcher universe exceeded a million in just a week after the release. Polish players became the leaders in terms of the number of installs, which is understandable since CD Projekt RED studio that released the game is Poland-based.

In just a week after the release, The Witcher: Monster Slayer players spent more than $500,000 in the game. American gamers were the leaders in donations.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a free augmented reality mobile game, a spin-off of the CD Projekt RED game series, developed by the Spokko studio. The game invites players to take on the role of a new Witcher. With their smartphones and tablets, gamers will be able to hunt down over 100 monsters, both old and new. Location and time of day will affect gameplay.

The authors used the basic mechanics of Pokemon GO. However, in The Witcher: Monster Slayer, gamers need to fight monsters, not catch them. Players can meet monsters both at home and on the streets of their city. Events take place before the appearance of Geralt of Rivia.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer was released on mobile devices based on iOS and Android on July 21, 2021.
