According to Global News, a 30-year-old woman committed a series of thefts between December 24 and January 23, 2021. One of the spots she robbed turned out to be Rockstar Games' office, the creator of the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises.

On Christmas Eve, the suspect took out boxes of equipment and accessories delivered to the company office with a total cost of $66 000. In addition to stealing from Rockstar Games, within a month, she stole a car, several jackets, and an iPhone with which she paid for purchases through ApplePay.

According to the police, the alleged crimes include:

  • December 24, 2020: Theft of approximately $66,000 worth of computer equipment and accessories from Rockstar Games Toronto in Oakville.
  • January 20 and 23, 2021: Theft of mail from a community mailbox on Pearson Drive in Oakville.
  • January: Theft of a jacket, which contained keys for a Kia Rondo, from a dental office on Trafalgar Road in Oakville. The woman then stole the vehicle, which was parked in the parking lot.
  • January 22: Theft of an iPhone from Longo's, a supermarket on Trafalgar Road, and subsequent use of Apple Pay to make two purchases.
  • January 23: Theft of a jacket and backpack from a parking garage on Oak Park Boulevard.

In total, the woman committed 18 crimes for which she faces a long prison term. Rockstar Games did not comment on this incident in any way.
