Toyota Will Close Its Car Assembly Plant in Russia
Toyota announced that it will close its vehicle manufacturing plant in Saint Petersburg, which builds the Camry and RAV4. The plant has not been producing cars since March because of the shortage of key components and materials following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The production at this plant was suspended in March. Vehicle imports into Russia were also stopped.
The decision to close the plant was taken because the company sees no indication that it can resume production in the future.
