Twin Mirror Review
Twin Mirror is a detective game developed and published by the French studio Dontnod, known by the game Life is Strange.
The new game tells about the inhabitants of a provincial American town. The disadvantage of Twin Mirror is that it is not divided into episodes. It's a cohesive game of the same form as Life is Strange, painstakingly compressed into a predictable five-hour detective story.
The main character of Twin Mirror is journalist Sam. He returns to his hometown, from where he escaped several years ago because of an investigation article he wrote about the local mine managers' negligence. The coal mining site was eventually closed, and all lost their jobs — the journalist was blamed for it.
Sam returned to his hometown because of the death of his friend, he did not want to stay in the city, but plans have changed, as Sam woke up with a hangover in the morning and someone's blood on his clothes.
Trying to figure out what happened, the hero learns that the blood on his clothes belongs to one of the Basswood residents with whom he quarreled the day before, and there is a lot of evidence that Nick, Sam's friend, did not die in the car accident himself.
The plot revolves around the Sam investigation. The hero often wanders around the locations and crime scenes, looking for evidence and communicating with the characters.
