Ubisoft Will Make a VR Game Based on Notre-Dame Fire

According to Variety, Ubisoft and French film studio Pathé are working on a VR escape game about the Notre-Dame de Paris fire.

On the fateful night of April 15, 2021, a fire broke out beneath the roof of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral in France. As a result, the roof of the building was destroyed, and the spire of the tower collapsed. After that, Ubisoft released an interactive tour of Notre Dame, which was created using the model of the cathedral from Assassin's Creed: Unity.

In a 1-hour VR game, players will have to become firefighters whose task is to put out the fire as soon as possible and try to save as many ancient relics as they can. Along the way, they have to actively interact with their partner, since the game is designed to be played together.

The release of the game project will be timed to coincide with the premiere of director Jean-Jacques Annaud's upcoming docudrama Notre Dame on Fire, which will premiere in March 2022.
