Valve Releases a Free Game Set In the Portal Universe
In the game, you play as an entry-level but aspiring office worker who gets a job at Aperture Science. Dreaming of building your career as fast as possible, you are full of ambitions, but life does not go as planned.

Valve has launched a new free Portal-inspired game – Aperture Desk Job – as a Steam Deck compatible title. It was specifically released to mark the official launch of the Steam Deck, a portable handheld gaming console, to guide the console owners through controls and features.
But that's not all! We're excited to introduce Aperture Desk Job — a free playable short made for Steam Deck, set in the universe of the modestly popular Portal games. Coming March 1! https://t.co/4th5yDtkE7 pic.twitter.com/Kq0oHfMGzZ

Aperture Desk Job is an interactive and very small game designed to introduce Steam Deck buyers to the console's controls. Even though it is set in the Portal universe, the developers ask players to lower their expectations since it is not Portal 3.

Aperture Desk Job takes the walking simulator genre to a whole new level by putting a player behind a desk instead of making them walk for miles.
The game is now available to download from Steam for free.
