Nippon Ichi Software announced that the survival horror game Yomawari 3 is now in the development stage. The game is set to be released on April 21, 2022, on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The game developer has also released a short teaser trailer showcasing the upcoming game:
The games take place in an urban setting in Japan. The main character needs to explore the dark and empty town full of spirits and monsters without being detected. If a monster is near, a heartbeat system kicks in and causes the character to move slower.
The first title of the horror series, Yomawari: Night Alone, was released in Japan for PC and PS Vita in 2015. Its sequel, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows, was released two years later, in 2017. Both games were later bundled as Yomawari: The Long Night Collection for the Switch in 2018.
Yomawari 3 will be released in Japan first. The date of an international release has not been announced yet. However, the previous games of the horror series have been localized, so there is no reason why this game shouldn't.
